The Macclesfield Flying Club recently held their annual prize/presentation at the Beehive in Macclesfield. Guest of Honor was Paul Beck of Hyde presenting the beautiful trophies, cups and diplomas to the successful fanciers.
Premier prizewinner for the millennium flying season was George and Linda Greenwood from Bollington. This partnership had a really outstanding season in 2000 winning 35 diplomas, 21 trophies including 9 x 1st Prizes, 10 x 2nd Prizes, 3 x 3rd Prizes, 9 x4th prizes and 4 x 5th prizes the Young bird average, Old bird average, Old bird Inland Average, Channel Average, Combined average, Longest 2-bird races with both Old and Young birds, Best Average Nantes/Vire, 1st Yearling Messac, Highest Points Channel and Highest Prizewinner and a total of £973.30 prize and pool money. A wonderful achievement indeed!
Next to the table was the second prizewinner Martin Hough winning 17 diplomas 5 trophies one being runner up in the channel average including 4 x 1st prizes, 5 x 2nd prizes, 3 x 3rd prizes,2 x 4th prizes and 3 x 5th prizes, a total of £490.00 in prize and pool money.
In third place was Rick Geary and son winning 8 diplomas and 2 trophies including 2 x 1st prizes, 2 x 2nd prizes, 3 x 3rd prizes and 1 x 5th prize and a total of £212.43 in Prize and pool money.

Premier prize winner was George and Linda Greenwood having another successful season winning a total of £481 prize money and £277.18 pool money. This was gained from having
8x1st, 5x2nd, 9x3rd, 6x4th, 9x5th, they had an excellent young bird season winning the last five races. Trophies won were as follows:

Second was the Martin Hough (supported by his 12 year old Nephew Jamie Hough) winning a total of £330 prizemoney and £259.99 pool money. Having 3x1st ,8x2nd, 5x3rd, 3x4th, 4x5th

Third prizewinner was the Father and Son partnership of Rick and Simon Geary having a good season winning £303 prizemoney and £110.60 pool money taking 5x1st, 2x2nd, 5x3rd, 3x4th, 2x5th.
Trophies won DH Goldstraw shield. J. Mountfort trophy, J. Elkin cup, Breeze trophy and the J. Carter trophy.
4th Bernie and Chris Barrett £133 prize money and £138.18 pool money taking 3x1st, 1x2nd,2x3rd, 1x5th

5th Bernard Carolan won £87 prizemoney taking 2x1st, 1x3rd, 1x4th, 1x5th
Trophies won Garfield Weston cup for ob average, CB Dawson trophy for channel average, F.Hough memorial cup for best average. Brugge/Herstal.T Frodsham memorial trophy for channel points winner and the J.Welling trophy Niort cup.
6th Paul and Heather Beaden on their first season together flying the pigeons winning £77 prizemoney and £27.78 pool money taking 2x2nds and 1x4th
7th Colin Marlow, not forgetting his 2 daughters who help him taking 1x2nd, 2x4th and £73 prizemoney and the Peover Bros trophy for the channel average runner up.
8th Father and Son Mick and Gavin Finlow winning £63 prizemoney and £1.20 pool money having 1x1st, 1x2nd, 1x5th and the R. Barber cup
9th Club president Brian Smith along with wife Jill won £41 prizemoney with 1x4th, 1x5th
10th T/P Frodsham took £38 prizemoney and £4.68 pool money with 1x2nd, 2x4th, 1x5th
11th Ken Hadfield won £26 prizemoney and £1.86 pool money with 1x4th
